This project showcases a renovation of a semi-dettached home in Seksyen 17, where contemporary architecture meets a deeply personal collection of art and heritage. The design narrative centers on “The Modern Collector,” creating a sophisticated backdrop that honors the client’s existing antique furniture and vibrant art collection without feeling like a museum. The exterior presents a clean, monolithic facade with timber slats. This “filtered” privacy continues indoors. The architecture “carves out” views from the interior, ensuring that even when seated inside, the garden/planter box feels like a living painting on the inside. Intentional hits of bold color were used to create a high-contrast backdrop, ensuring the interior space and the client’s existing artwork exist in a continuous, vibrant dialogue and composition.
