Situated along the Stulang Laut waterfront in Johor, this project reimagines KFC’s flagship outlet through a comprehensive Alteration and Addition (A&A). The design scope encompasses the facade, alfresco, interior, and landscape, forming a cohesive response to both the site and brand identity. The facade concept draws inspiration from the rhythm and vibrancy of the seaside context. A bold, contemporary red lantern form; expressed through perforated metal and acts as both sculpture and screen, symbolizing warmth and connection. This dynamic intervention redefines the outlet’s architectural presence, creating a striking dialogue between brand expression and place. Material selection was guided by durability and tactility, ensuring longevity in harsh coastal conditions while maintaining design integrity. Integrated lighting for the facade and landscape enhances the overall experience - casting a comfortable, ambient glow that complements the architectural rhythm of the overall place.
